I rarely ever plan out my weekend escapades in Korea. Its one of those situations where you crave for electrified moments and the best way you encounter such is by random activity then by sunset you crash peacefully.

So yeah, I wanted to engage in the Korean culture and acquire more knowledge considering I'll be residing in Korea for one year. I thank God for my brave soul and the strength deposited in me to endure my journey. I definitely think its an extended amount of time from my family/friends, however I'm glad I've been removed from my comfort zone, if not I wouldn't be aware of the greatness that lies within me. A great friend of mine encouraged me to view this opportunity as a mission from God and in everything stay optimistic. What better way to sum it up. Just call me Super Woman lol and God is my super power.

I needed a moment to reflect, this journey has treated me so well thus far. Enjoy optics of my random activities throughout my cultural moments in Korea

"Sunday Morning Love"

"The simple joys of life" As I walked along the river, I came across Korean children, supervised by their parents, swimming and playing in the neighborhood river.
I totally forgot his name. The owner and chef of  "The Page Cafe" in Korea.

After random adventures scouting  the surrounding areas of my new residence, Yongin Suji-ju, Gyeonggi, South Korea (the name is ridiculously long, props to the Korean way), I detected a abundance of restaurants and social venues. I instantly found a new love, "Cafe Street". In particular, the ambiance and atmosphere won my heart. After each visit, I'm left refreshed and at peace due to hours spent indulging in great "convo", calm reading, tasty foods, great drinks, ranging from coffee to cocktails, and lavish shopping.

Sunday, I walked along a serene river in search for a American style brunch (though Koreans cook American food far lighter and healthier) on Cafe Street. Accompanied by my new co-worker and American friend, Craig Muse, from down south  like myself ,by way of " The Big Peach AKA Hotlanta" ATL, (then he relocated to NY now he's residing in Korea), we impulsively fell into  the doors of "The Page" Cafe, a San Francisco inspired cafe. While the owner cooked our brunch, I soaked in the rhythmic tunes of R. Kelly, Usher, John Legend, and a play list of a large variety of American R&B artist. Of course, I "got my dance on", people who truly know me understand I'm a avid dancer and will dance all day to night, then morning, and start the process completely over again lol . Anyhow, the tunes didn't surprise me. Quite often it's naturally common to hear American R&B music in restaurants and shops across Korea, more so songs with Black artist. I'm overly convinced Koreans looooooove African Americans. Black is beautiful, kind, sexy, and all of the above...YEEEES LAWD! There's been several humorous occasions old Korean  men have fervently expressed their love for me as they struggled to speak English but were outrageously excited that a Black American girl had invaded their country, as well they have complimented me on my beauty and grace...Now, back to the music, I think it's also a  interesting strategy used to help Korean's learn/enhance their English.

Inside of the Korean Boutique, Wonder Woman

Now to the more interesting section, I know you're delighted to find out more regarding my rad dress consumed on Cafe Street at this cool boutique, Wonder Woman.  They provide urban-chic Korean clothes that's sure to leave customers dressed fashionably and trendy. The associates should expect to see more of me. I couldn't fail to pair the eccentric dress with comfy patriotic shoes I carried over from the states. It was rather humid, and light drizzles decided to nourish the land. Therefore, I decided to go for this comfy, cool, simple, yet fabulous look. Korean Fashion is seriously on another level as Korea is ranked in the top 5 of the worlds largest and best shopping districts. Look for more post highlighting Korean fashion.

Korea, My Dear!

Indulging in Korea's Night Life

Subway Flow...WOOOOORK MISS WALKER!

OMG! Today, I celebrate with excitement, two months of my remarkable journey in South Korea. I have greatly enjoyed my venture thus far. Korea's beauty fills me with astonishment. I tend to find a continuous stream of daily inspiration. I've concluded maybe I should write a script for a television show, with the synopsis narrating the life of a young African American lady soaking in the loveliness of the Korean culture, living in a tech savvy, rather homogeneous deeply rooted in family and modern cultural society; including centering her young adult life in a country with a booming economy filled with individuals who strive to achieve EXCELLENCE daily. Of course I would add challenges that she may commonly face. The main character would be named Cleo Marie, to exemplify the strength of my great-grandmother that I have carried across the waters with me to this grand land. HAHAHA! It's only a thought...as I slipped off into my vibrant imagination.

U Umm...*Cough Cough* as I clear my throat and sip on green tea...I feel like singing, "Oh sweet Korea. I embrace every moment I spend with you. I live to be optimistic in every day I cherish under your climate. How this priceless voyage has impacted and greatly influenced my life. I look forward to the life we will embark together, how I expect my future time here to be nothing less than great. Sweet darling Korea." LOL Disregarding my comical antics, I truly feel this way. Look forward to more post paying homage to the country that has sparked my interest to be a better me, a greater me as I strive to conquer a lifestyle of excellence.
