African Pride

Rep yo "hood", rep yo city! Whatever you choose, however today I'm representing my ethnicity! Fist pump and S/O to my African ancestors. I'm proud to be black,  my black is ridiculously beautiful and voguish fierce. *Stops, pose, snaps fingers, and grabs the mic shouting "Can't Touch This." Stand up women of color and embrace every touch of  color embedded into your DNA.

Astound to learn that the Seoul Grand Park Zoo in South Korea hosted a Nighttime African Safari, I sought to experience the park's exhibits miming the African culture. The exhibits included that of wild animals and  my absolute favorite, engaging, talented African entertainers performing traditional African dances, songs, steps, and chants. Severely engrossed into the performances, I was infused with the spirit of the performers and found myself chanting along.

*As soon as I find a quick way to upload the video of the dancers, I will post.

I NEED A NEW CAMERA, WHO WANTS TO SPONSOR??? LOL ANYWAY ENJOY PICS BELOW!

Following my time spent at the zoo, I went "Seoul Searching" in Seoul, South Korea

My wardrobe was slightly inspired by the African Safari and nature herself, it was vital that I dressed comfortably and cool for the outdoors. Summer is still presiding, oh how I ardently welcome Autumn (especially it's fashion) Korea is blazing, reminds me of those scorching humid hot summer days in Texas.

Though, I kept it to a minimum, I was uniformed and in tune with the theme gifted by my easygoing street style

"Give Me Face" as I keep it to a minimum with a "natural bare face" including make-up staples, nude lip, bronzer, concealer, eyeliner and mascara.

I confess, I'm vastly falling in love with nature. During my childhood, I spent most of my play time indoors under my mother whining. LOL Yeah, I was a "momma's girl" but no overly spoiled brat.

I've never expressed intimacy with the outdoors more strongly since residing in Korea. Now, most of my leisure activities exist outdoors. Awwwww the simple things *Sips Green Tea* including no worries solely walking outside and making the best of it.

Recently, I had a romantic encounter with mother nature. I availed myself of the Han River Fireworks Boat Cruise to tour the bustling city of Seoul (The Capital of South Korea) riverfronts in the midst of the night. Also to wish a proper farewell to my colleague back to America. The boat was astir with Korean families celebrating life, I was pleased to be in the core of a atmosphere filled with the essence of love. That reminds me, August 19th marked three months of my journey in Korea. Lawd, time flies when you realize there's "LIFE TO LIVE."

I am deeply in love w/this blouse, ummm I think I will play mix-and-match using it in my wardrobe. I am no advocate of not wearing garments more than once, especially if I spent $$$. I'm not boogie, KK!!

"Living My Life Like It's Golden"

Photograph taken in front of Ddeoksugung Palace Seoul, South Korea

Seoul Museum of Modern Art "Power To Love, Live, and Be Free"

Discovered a spirit institution in downtown Korea paying homage to the Great State of Texas, Houston, TX babay, my hometown.

Word For Today: Epic, you know beyond the usual, not the ordinary. Considering I'm not ordinary, I seek to partake in  activities that aren’t, as well as break away from what's common. Death to being usual, RIP forever, forever, forever ever ladadada...Often I tend to challenge the norm and slave to bring an alternative perspective to life, including setting trends while being inspired by what has already been paved.

Check out my photography skills in the rain, Slight Work lol

"My Korean BBQ Experience"
So yeah it's Monsoon season in Korea, it's raining men Hallelujah it's raining men, lol I wish ;) But the current season is composed of rain and humid weather. Though, I've learned to embrace all seasons (literally and throughout stages in life) and  what better day to enjoy in the rain than a calm soothing  Sunday in Seoul, the heart of South Korea. First up was the appetizing Korean BBQ experience where the food is roasted directly infront of you. Korean BBQ is a luxirious Korean dish with meats including Bulgogi (beef) with mushrooms, onions, and scallop potatoes as the main dish usually served with a Korean delicacy, Kimchi (Korean spicy cabbage), pumpkin potato salad (YUCK) not a fan, and Bimbibap, a Korean rice dish w/veggies. Next was a stroll along the Cheonggyecheonn River in downtown Seoul, Korea, yeah in the rain, it added character and created a peaceful moment. It's solely water lol not a life and death issue. The rain enlightens my soul.  Finally, a high-energy dance party at Seoul Museum of Modern Art. OMG that museum was outrageously cool, like spectacular (I sound like the "uncool" kid but who gives a...) I appreciate art, it drives inspiration and seduces my mind to live as an ageless individual. Allured by the abstract designs and modern creativity, I began to as well appreciate Korea more.

Authentic style tops relentless conventional style any second, minute, and hour. Therefore, I bring you a taste of ArNECIa with a posh printed dress provided by Viacom, XXI knee high socks and statement necklace, and highfalutin uniquely designed casual sandals purchased at a Korean Boutique in Korea in the busiest yet fashion enthused district I’ve ever experienced.

WORK LOOK OF THE WEEK to sync with the unmeasurable summer drought, simple yet organic. I’ve learned you don’t have to drape yourself in the most expensive fabrics to dress trendy and fashionable. I found this amazing treasure, t-shirt dress for 5, 000 won equivalent to $5 US, BALLING!!! The leopard print cardigan is recycled, keep in mind prints are flourishing this season, and a Forever XXI statement necklace, though the store is becoming to commercial for me. I like unique grabs, not those every girl finds special, "you feel me" and my sandals are from a Korean boutique. Highlighted Accessory: DIY turban inspired headband designed out of a scarf.
Blurry photo but it still has class

This natural look appealed to Korean natives so much that my friend Craig and I was featured on a Korean blog for the Korean boutique Shuttle, I'm stoked. I'm international baby! Check out the optic above and link below.

Rapping, "I Ball So Hard In Korea You'll Find Me"

Who knew baseball games could be so full of life, enriched with fun and high-fan energy? Well, there's a first time for everything. I discovered in Korea, professional baseball games are popular on a radar comparable to football in the states. I attended a insane game on Sunday, Kia Tigers v. Doosan Bears. It was a packed house, populated with ballistic die hard fans. The excitement of the fans grew more frenzied as the game progressed. They were notorious and no doubt it was proven they like to "partay" I know that's not a word but the level of outrageous energy, fun, and abundance of chicken and beer ate, was that above a party, the atmosphere was on fire. The hype man was on set, the DJ knew his cure, and the dancers ripped the stage, "It was live." Oh yeah, Koreans love them some good fried chicken and beer, ummm just like black people (In my Southern American dialect) The fans "rocked out" for an entire three hours. The energy  was viciously contagious, enthralled and over enthused I was pressured to dance, sing, chant, and all of the above. By the way, I don't know a "lick" of Korean, however it was fun mumbling along as if I knew every word. I'll constrain the singing to the shower. The fans were really blazed about the game and I was captivated by the energy of the people. I was as well excited for the American players, including a African American player! Woot!  This was the first baseball game of my lifetime and I conclude I've found a new love in sports.

Thank You Korea! You're Fabulous and Full of Life!

FYI:
Hair Tip: Ladies, if you're curious how to style your hair on a hot and humid day for outdoor activities, be creative, DIY (do it yourself), use a scarf and design it into a turban.

Life and Liberty...Guns and Roses

Fish Pedicure AKA "Dr. Fish"
I live for Korea...Pure Life and Liberty
Dr. Fish
South Korea #LIVING
Saturday I exercised my liberty to freely use the activity of my limbs and explore more of South Korea. As a result,  my weekend was electrifying and full of life. To begin, I had a weird encounter with fish, very unusual however enjoyable. There is this notorious cafe and book joint that provides a service called "Dr. Fish". There are two pools of fish, both large and small, the purpose of the fish is to eat the dead skin off of your feet, similar to a pedicure. This possibly would be considered outrageously odd in the US, but I'm an odd girl. Therefore, this suited me well. It was very relaxing; I unwind, de-stressed, and decompressed simultaneously. I prefer not to bore you with excessive verbiage, so I will end here...

Ok, I lied. I can't fail to mention information regarding my bizarre and interestingly dope fit for under 45,000 Korean won equivalent to approximately $45.00. I adore shopping in Korea, I'm quite lucky when it comes to finding treasures for a bargain.

Giving life at a bus stop in South Korea! LOL
Wardrobe: Guns and Roses Fringe Top Korean street boutique sale for 5,000 won equivalent to $5.00; Acid Wash Shorts Korea's Hyundai Dept. Store sale for 10,000 won equivalent to $10.00; Shoes Korea H&M Sale $20.00...oh yeah the dope frames pictured were designed with real gold...YESSSSSSS shout out to the Korean eye wear vendor located in a underground market
